We left Cape Town excited for our adventure up the Garden Route. After about a five hour drive we arrived in George which is just a few minutes away from the Hotel. We were looking forward to a relaxing get-a-way. When we arrived we were welcomed by a warm and friendly staff.
We always seem to arrive before check-in. To pass some time we decided to enjoy a quick refreshing drink at the bar. Situated inside the hotel on the ground floor we discovered a quaint area with dark furniture complimented by day light coming through the windows. The bar staff was very accommodating and helped us with all our requests.
We were escorted to our room on the far side of the hotel. It was private and welcoming. The view from the private balcony was spectacular and the room warm and inviting. At the time of our visit they were still doing major renovations to the hotel yet still never got in the way of our quiet time away.
The hotel staff was professional and extremely helpful. The food and wine was superb and the prices respectful.
The hotel grounds were well maintained. We spent quite some time in the pool area as the days were delightfully hot. The hotel is also good for special function such as weddings, company conferences etc.
We look forward to another stay after the renovations are complete.
For a romantic get-a-way take a blanket and bubbles with.
George can be hot and dry, drink lots of water.
